Justin Fyten

Justin is a staff attorney at the Law Offices of Johanna Herrero. He is a graduate of New England School of Law.  As the son of an immigrant from the Netherlands, immigration law has always been a passion of Justin’s.  Justin joined the firm with extensive experience with USCIS and EOIR, including provisional unlawful presence waivers, waivers of inadmissibility, adjustment of status, naturalization, and motions before immigration court. While attending New England School of Law, Justin participated in a semester-long immigration law clinic at a Boston-based immigration firm.  He also volunteered with the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) doing pro bono work to help immigrants with their applications for lawful permanent residence and for naturalization.  After graduating, Justin clerked at an immigration law firm in downtown Boston.Justin’s work with the Law Offices of Johanna Herrero has a particular emphasis on the firm’s provisional unlawful presence waivers, motions to reopen before the immigration court, and applications for asylum, withholding of removal, and protection under the Convention Against Torture.

Kendell Johnson

Kendell is an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Johanna Herrero. She is a 2014 graduate of New England Law|Boston. Kendell joined the firm with extensive experience with USCIS and EOIR, as well as the family court process including provisional unlawful presence waivers, waivers of inadmissibility, adjustment of status, naturalization, and motions before the Immigration Court. While attending New England Law|Boston, Kendell received a fellowship allowing her to work for the Irish International Immigrant Center (IIIC). Kendell also participated in a semester-long immigration law clinic and a semester-long administrative law clinic, both of which focused on immigration law in both a public interest organization and a private Boston immigration firm. During law school, Kendell served as a legal research assistant focusing on women's issues and human trafficking as they relate to American immigration law. She also interned for a semester at Suffolk Probate and Family Court and volunteered with the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) doing pro bono work to help immigrants with their applications for naturalization. Kendell's work with the Law Offices of Johanna Herrero has a particular emphasis on the firm’s younger clients through the Special Immigrant Juvenile process in both Massachusetts Probate and Family Court as well as before USCIS and EOIR. She also focuses on U visas and VAWA applications as well as provisional unlawful presence waivers, adjustments of status, naturalization, and motions at the Executive Officer for Immigration Review.

Lisette Cardo

Lisette is an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Johanna Herrero. She was born in Cuba and came to the United States when she was 10 years old. Her immigrant roots and strong appreciation for the law makes her a strong support system for the firms client base. As a Cuban American she is able to relate the clients and their struggles. She is a 2016 graduate of Suffolk Law School  in Massachusetts and attended Florida International University as an undergraduate. Lisette joined the firm with extensive experience with USCIS and EOIR, from her former internship at the Department of Homeland Security.  Lisette manages the firms Miami branch and handles the EOIR and USCIS dockets. She has particular expertise in the process including provisional unlawful presence waivers, waivers of inadmissibility, adjustment of status, naturalization, and motions before the Immigration Court. Lisette has also participated in a semester-long immigration law clinics and a semester-long administrative law clinic, both of which focused on immigration law in both a public interest organization and a private Boston immigration firm.  Lisette's work with the Law Offices of Johanna Herrero has a particular emphasis on the firm’s Waivers, Motions and Detainees. She has also represented the firms younger clients through the Special Immigrant Juvenile process in both Massachusetts Probate and Family Court as well as before USCIS and EOIR.
